New songs for the day before St. Patrick's Day 2026

here they are: "All I Did Was Dream of You" by beabadoobee:  beabadoobee has already had some pretty dreamy tracks in her career, but this might just be the dreamiest (fitting to its title). "All I Did Was Dream of You" has the 2020's indie-pop sensation singing one of the most icy yet hypnotic tracks she has ever released. Most of the lyrics fit the mood of the song, but there is one part where she sings "Nightmares always feel like this/They swallow me, but I let it go/Doesn't feel like I can breathe/But they follow me and I let it go." There's also a brief part in the song where its dream-pop-y vibe briefly gets a bit grungy, albeit not in an extreme way. This song is a bit like "6 Underground" by Sneaker Pimps if Garbage decided to cover it. "Doctrine of Love" by Jalen Ngonda:  Hot on the heels of neo-soul sensations of the 2010's and 2020's like Curtis Harding, Leon Bridges, and Devon Gilfillian, Jalen Ngonda i...

New songs for October 27th, 2025

here they are: "Another Dimension" by Daniel Donato (featuring Elle King):  If you're a fan of the "trippy country music" style The Grateful Dead became known for, you'll like this song! Daniel Donato is already a bit of a "cosmic cowboy," so to speak, and although Elle is more known for sassy tunes like "Ex's and Oh's," she did start out doing more country-influenced tunes, so she's no stranger to the style either. It's easy to assume from the song's swirly sound that "Another Dimension" has a title that's a drug reference, but beneath the surface? Well, it's actually even darker than you might expect (but also more reassuring)! It seems to be about how chaotic the world has gotten lately, but that there's an alternate "dimension" you can escape to where you don't have to face the conflict. "Break the Jaw" by Madison Cunningham:  A folk-rock-y song from Madison, as per us...

New songs for January 20th, 2025

here they are: "Ankles" by Lucy Dacus:  Lucy Dacus has tried her hand at all sorts of areas of indie, ranging from indie-pop to indie-folk to some power pop, but I've never heard her attempt the "chamber pop" sound until now, and she's good at it! There are orchestral instruments in this song such as cello and what sounds like a harpsichord that can't be easily found in her other material, which makes it stand out from her other stuff. Equally remarkable is her video for the song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcW_-uxy6dQ) which takes place at a museum (with Lucy as the painting) and stars another LGTBQ Lucy, Lucy Liu, as the curator. Anything to help out diverse communities during a time when the world just doesn't seem as open-minded as it used to be! "Bovine Excision" by Samia:  For a song with such a weird title, Samia's "Bovine Excision" has a surprisingly chill indie-folk sound (with gradual electro-pop elements added...
