 here they are: "Catch These Fists" by Wet Leg:  One of the most uniquely catchy songs of the 2020's so far has been Wet Leg's "Chaise Longue," which combined the dry, monotone delivery of Cake with buzzing post-punk inspired guitar and bass riffs! This formula for success is replicated in Wet Leg's latest song, "Catch These Fists," though there's more apparent edginess there than there was in "Chaise Longue." The title alone of "Catch These Fists" makes it sound somewhat aggressive, and its delivery comes off as such, though not without melodic undertones and catchy hooks to balance it out.  "Get it at Home" by Saint Motel:  Saint Motel are another band who seems to have a specific formula to their success.  here they are: "Call Me (Whatever You Like)" by Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats:  Why wasn't this  the first single from Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats' newest album?! I mean "Heartless" wasn't a bad choice, but my fave Nathaniel songs are the ones where he lets out his inner soul man, and his latest song, "Call Me (Whatever You Like)," ranks among them! The song starts with a gritty, country-rock acoustic guitar strum before launching into a tune that imitates vintage soul music, complete with a kickin' horn section! This is definitely not the forlorn song "Heartless" was. There even a few choice swear words in this song to serve as a way for Nathaniel to tell us just how ticked off he feels! There's even an electric guitar solo in this song, a rarity for NRATNS!! If the title alone wasn't enough of an indicator that Nathaniel means business in this song, I dunno what is!  "Driver" by Soccer Mo...

 here they are: "All the Ways" by The Secret Sisters (featuring Ray LaMontagne):  The Secret Sisters and Ray LaMontagne are both pretty popular among alt-country fans. Their first collaboration together does retain some of their country-rock roots, but mostly, it's a soulful, intimate ballad. It's a love song, pure and simple, but it's done in such a way that it draws you into its warm and tender ways! "April" by Local Natives:  As if by coincidence, our next song is the same as the month it was released in! "April," in this case, though, is not the month, but the name of a person. In this psychedelic electro-rock number, Local Natives sing of what appears to be their latest romance, though the lyrics tend to be a bit on the abstract side, as one might expect with a group like them.
